Wright Brothers National Memorial

The Wright Brothers National Memorial is a national park to commemorate the first successful airplane flights back on December 17, 1903. It was the day that air travel was becoming a reality.
Orville and Wilbur Wright had been visiting Outer Banks to work on their invention for 3 years prior to completing their first four consecutive successful flights.
