The John Gorrie Museum State Park is a Florida State Park to commemorate the man behind the invention of the air conditioner dating back to 1851, where he filed his U.S Patent for mechanical refrigeration. His first invention was the Ice Machine in an attempt to cure Yellow Fever during an outbreak in Apalachicola.
