James Polk Gravesite

President James K. Polk died at the age of 53 years old on June 15, 1849. He died due to cholera and though it is curable now, it was during the time when the disease was at its early stages and treatment causes more harm than cure. The visiting public may pay their respects at President Polk’s gravesite located at the Tennessee State Capitol, Nashville, Tennessee.
