Brooklyn Heights

Brooklyn Heights

Brooklyn Heights is a residential neighborhood in New York City. The district is known for its low-rise architecture and brownstone rowhouses. In 1966, Brooklyn Heights was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It was the first type of district given to New York City at the time.

In the Battle of Brooklyn Heights during the Revolutionary War, most of the battles took place on the shores of Gowanus Creek, on Flatbush Road, and in Jamaica Pass at Prospect Park. These places have distinct landmarks to honor the brave heroes that fought for America's independence.
