Fort Ticonderoga is a large star-shaped fort built in the 18th century. Constructed by Canadian-French-born Michel Chartier de Lotbinière, Marquis de Lotbinière between October 1755 and 1757, the fort played a significant role in the French and Indian War as well as the American Revolutionary War.
Today, Fort Ticonderoga is known as a National Historic Landmark where it is known as a tourist hotspot, an early American museum, as well as a research center.
Tourists are welcome to visit Fort Ticonderoga starting on May 10th, to commemorate the success of 1775, and closes around late October of every year.
