Osceola County Historical Society

The Osceola County Historical Society was founded in 1949 by a small group of volunteers with a passion to preserve the history of Osceola County. Since then, the organization has grown tremendously with two locations.

The first location is the Pioneer Village. Located in northwestern Osceola County, Florida, its grounds feature several late-19th century structures that depict life when citrus was king, Crackers ruled the scrub, and everyone lived simply off the land and their ingenuity. There is also a nature trail which connects to Shingle Creek Regional Park. Come experience the Pioneer Village- a place to stroll through history!

The second location is at the Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum. Here, the history of Osceola County is told from early Native Americans to cattle kings. Explore six different exhibits featuring both historical and environmental knowledge and interactive displays.
