The Jackson Homestead and Museum at 527 Washington Street, 02458 is located at the corner of Washington Street and Jackson Road, between Newton Corner and Newtonville,
From the East/Boston: Take Exit 17 off the Mass. Pike to Washington Street, following the signs for West Newton. The Museum is on the right, one-third of a mile west of the exit.
From the West/Mass. Pike: Take Exit 17, loop left around the Crowne Plaza Hotel onto Washington Street, and proceed west. The Museum is on the right, one-third of a mile west of the exit.
From North or South off Route 128 (I-95): Take Exit 21/21A to Route 16 East. Go east on Route 16 to West Newton. Keeping in the right lane, cross over the Mass. Pike. Keeping right, go through the West Newton business district and follow Washington Street (parallel to the Mass. Pike) about two miles. The museum will be on the left just beyond the set of lights at Adams Street.
Parking: The museum's parking lot is adjacent to the building. Additional street parking is available on Washington Street (time-limited, note signage) and on Jackson Road.
Public Transportation: Bus routes 57, 504, 553, 554, 556, and 558 all stop within walking distance of the museum. The Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail Line's Newtonville stop is also within walking distance. For more information, please go to the MBTA website.
The Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds in Newton, MA 02458, is the bright-green house located on 286 Waverley Avenue at the corner of Kenrick Street near Newton Corner.
From the East/Boston: Take Exit 17 off the Mass. Pike to Washington Street, following the signs for West Newton. Turn left on Church Street and follow it over the Mass Pike and up the hill to where Church Street ends, about .7 miles. Turn right onto Waverley Avenue. The Museum is the green house on the left, just past the traffic light.
From the West/Mass. Pike: Take Exit 17 and take first right onto Centre Street. Turn left on Church Street and follow it to the end, about .4 miles. Turn right onto Waverley Avenue. The Museum is the green house on the left, just past the traffic light.
Parking: There is limited parking in our lot and ample additional on-street parking. Please park abutting our property on the even side of Waverley Avenue and Kenrick Street, (the same side as the house). No parking is permitted within five feet of a driveway. For larger events, please also park along the rest of the Waverley block and on the even side of Sargent and Kenrick Streets, closest to the house.
Public Transportation: Bus routes 52, 57, 504, 553, 554, 556, and 558 all stop within a twelve minute walk of the museum. For more information, please go to the MBTA website.
