Explore the wardrobes of 17th century men and women in Plymouth Colony in an online talk presented by independent researcher, reenactor and historical tailor Axel Boy.
Axel will use written, pictorial and archaeological evidence to present a basic description of the clothing worn by the Pilgrims. Sponsored by the Alden Kindred of America, the talk will be broadcast through Zoom.
Axel Boy has been involved with reenacting both as a hobby and professionally for the past 25 years. Over the last ten years he has focused on researching and reproducing clothing from the 16th and 17th centuries. He is a tailor for the New Plimmoth Gard, a group of reenactors portraying the culture and militia of Plymouth Colony, c. 1621-1646.
The Alden Kindred of America owns and operates Alden House Historic Site, the former property of Mayflower passengers John and Priscilla Alden and generations of their descendants. It is located at 105 Alden Street in Duxbury. For more information, please visit www.alden.org.
