The Boston Tea Party: Connecting Westborough and India (with Tea!)

    Improve listing Presented by

Tea expert Danielle Beaudette of The Cozy Tea Cart in Brookline, NH will discuss the discovery of tea by Europeans, the East India Company, and the role of tea in the events leading up to the American Revolution, including the Boston Massacre, the Tea Act of 1773, and the Boston Tea Party. A tasting of three different teas will be a part of the program.

This talk and tasting is part of the Westborough History Connections programming series that this year is asking, “How does history connect Westborough and India?” Both Westborough and India once fell under the control of the British Empire, and the Westborough Center of History and Culture is exploring the shared experiences and impact that colonial rule had on both areas of the world through programming, activities, and exhibits.
