Join us for a special viewing of this 48-minute documentary by filmmaker David Huntley, which tells “…one of the greatest environmental comeback stories in American history.” In the late 1800s, the White Mountains suffered from extensive logging, and between 1880 and 1910, hundreds of thousands of acres were destroyed by forest fires, followed by erosion and flooding. Learn how the destruction of New Hampshire’s forests led to a grassroots conservation movement led by citizens, politicians, and business and civic groups who believed that conservation could benefit both the environment and the economy.
