Boston Public LIbrary

In honor of the Quincy Historical Society's 125th anniversary authors Dan Simmons, Wayne Miller, and Corinne Waite explore the creation of "A Quincy Book of Days", a treasury of facts, anecdotes, and observations from Quincy's history for every day of the year, including leap year.
They will discuss the long and interesting history of books of days and why they chose this project for their anniversary publication. In addition they will examine how they tackled the daunting task of finding and assembling material for all 366 days, including some surprising and serendipitous experiences, and share some of the stories in the book. Also included will be a visual tour of Quincy from 1893 to 2018 incorporating highlights of what they discovered while doing their research.
Daniel Simmons holds a Ph.D. in American History from the University of Connecticut, and is a trustee at Quincy Historical Society.
Wayne Miller is the author of both Quincy Massachusetts, A Shipbuilding Tradition and Fore River Shipyard, and a trustee at Quincy Historical Society.
Corrine Waite is a volunteer at the Quincy Historical Society library as well as a retired history teacher from Quincy High School.
May also be joined by Edward Fitzgerald, Quincy Historical Society Director, and Alexandra Elliott, Quincy Historical Society Assistant Curator.
