Join us for an online lecture with Malcolm F. Purinton, Ph.D., renowned beer historian, professor, author and columnist who turned his love of beer into an academic vocation. He will discuss the role of beer and alcohol in Revolutionary times to present day.

This interesting and lively lecture will be held on Tuesday, April 8th at 6.30 p.m. on Zoom

"I am a beer historian, long-time home brewer, beer writer and scholar.

I am also an Assistant Teaching Professor at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. where I teach World and Food History as well as the histories of Technology, Capitalism and Business, and Imperialism and Colonialism. I received my doctorate from Northeastern University in 2016 where I studied World History and the History of Beer and Brewing through topics of Empire, Trade, and Taste.

I also enjoy giving interviews, public and private lectures and talks about the long and varied history of this fun and fascinating libation. My monograph, Globalization in a Glass: The Rise of Pilsner Beer through Technology, Taste and Empire, is available now and published by Bloomsbury Academic Publishing as part of its Food in Modern History: Traditions and Innovations series."
