Noble Volunteers with Don Hagist

British soldiers are generally cast as the villains in the story of April 19th: a long line of killing machines, automatons with no sympathy or commonality with the Americans they fought. Historian Don Hagist has uncovered the truth: the British army was rather a surprisingly diverse group of men, many of whom never dreamed that they would be sent to another country to fight their fellow Englishmen.

Recruited from a variety of colonies, countries, professions, and walks of life, many left behind a surprising amount of information that allows us to learn about their personal stories. Who were these men, why were they here, and what did they think about this war? Tune in to find out!

Admission by donation (free to members of His Majesty's 10th Regiment of Foot). Registration opens in early April.
