NEHH@20 Open House: A Celebration of NEHH at 20 Years

    Improve listing Presented by

Join us at 14 Beacon to celebrate twenty years of the New England’s Hidden Histories (NEHH) project with an in-person program of reflection and conversation. NEHH began at the CLA in 2005 to preserve some of the oldest manuscript Congregational church records in New England. Today, it has grown into a digital archive with 130,000 digital images and over 26,000 pages of transcription, representing a broad and diverse collection of early American voices.

The afternoon will include a discussion of the digital exhibition, NEHH@20: Re-Examining Stories from New England Communities, which highlights the work of scholars, church historians, and transcribers who have contributed to the project and uncovered new histories in the process. There will also be a roundtable discussion of the past, present, and future of NEHH; a viewing of original NEHH materials; a tribute to participating churches and archives; and cake and refreshments.

We hope you will join us for an afternoon of looking back on the past twenty years and looking forward to what is coming next for NEHH!
