In 1923, Mary Bowditch Forbes had an exact replica of Lincoln's log cabin birthplace built in her backyard to house her large and growing collection of Lincoln and Civil War memorabilia. Throughout most of the rest of her life, she opened up the cabin to the public twice a year, and tens of thousands of visitors descended upon the property.
Learn about the origin, ongoing inspiration and lasting legacy of Ms. Forbes's Lincoln cabin through her correspondence, scrapbooks, collected art and artifacts and period film footage.
