In 1824, American Revolutionary War hero the Marquis de Lafayette visited the United States of America for a Grand Tour of all 24 states. Join public historian Elizabeth M. Reese in a lecture following Lafayette’s tour, highlighting the important people, events, and legacy of America’s favorite fighting Frenchman.

Elizabeth M. Reese is a historian in the Washington, DC area, and has spent over a decade as an interpreter at historic sites on the East Coast. Her work has also appeared in TIME, the New York Times, and C-SPAN. She is currently the Senior Manager of Public Programs & Interpretation at Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House in Alexandria, Virginia.
