The Nickersons: From England to Chatham to Dedham
Wednesday, March 15th, 7:00 p.m.
Dedham Museum & Archive
612 High Street, Dedham
In the late 1800s, two Nickerson brothers came to Dedham and made a significant and lasting impact on the community. Churches, libraries, schools and even the game of Polo benefitted from their vision and philanthropy. Their family roots in this country extended back to 1637 when William Nickerson emigrated from England to America and founded the town of Chatham on the Cape. This fascinating talk by Dr. Richard Scott will follow the journey of the Nickerson family, giving particular attention to the two brothers and their contributions within of Dedham.
This in-person talk will be held at the museum, 612 High Street, Dedham. Members free; nonmembers $10. For more details, visit www.dedhamhistorical.org or call 781.326.1385 or use the QR code below.
