Sudbury Historical Society and Sudbury Valley Trustees
The Sudbury Historical Society and the Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) have planned a special collaborative program about the history of the Wolbach Farm, headquarters of the SVT, for Sunday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the barn at Wolbach Farm, 18 Wolbach Road, Sudbury.
Alice Wellington, a Concord-based photographer and grand -niece of Burt and Anna Wolbach who bought the farm in 1936, will present family recollections and the accomplishments and pursuits of the Wolbachs.
It was Dr. S. Burt Wolbach, a prominent Harvard Medical School Pathologist and his wife, Anna Wellington Wolbach, a Radcliffe Alumna, whose home, Winter Brook Farm, located East of Sudbury Town Center, was the gathering place for family Thanksgiving celebrations for generations. The home was named for the stream that ran through the farm all winter long. SVT will lead a walking tour of the grounds after the program.
Prior to the illustrated talk the Sudbury Historical Society will conduct a brief Annual Meeting and Election of Officers and will provide an update on the Sudbury History Center project at the Loring Parsonage in Sudbury’s Town Center.
If you haven’t visited Wolbach Farm, you are in for a special treat in a very picturesque setting! The program is free. Donations are appreciated.
