Join author Mary Hirthe and her son Peter Hirthe as they share her and her late husband's adventures and challenges in crafting their classic work on Door County maritime history, "Schooner Days in Door County." This program will offer an informative and entertaining account of the Door peninsula's colorful history during the golden age of sail. A book signing will follow the program.

Location Description: Four floors of changing exhibit galleries, permanent exhibits and the museum store — located on Madison's Capitol Square

These directions take you to the Capitol Square. On-street parking is very limited. The closest city parking ramps are the State Street Capitol Garage (one block north of the Museum) and Overture Center Garage (two blocks west of the Museum).

From Milwaukee
Take I-94 West to Madison. Continue straight onto WI-30 West (Exit 138B). Take a right at US-151 South/E Washington Ave (Exit 135A). Follow signs to the State Capitol. Park in the State Street Capitol Garage or Overture Center Garage.

From Chicago

Take I-90 West to Wisconsin. Take WI-30 west (Exit 133B) (left exit) toward Madison. Take US-151 south/E Washington Ave Exit. Follow signs to the State Capitol. Park in the State Street Capitol Garage or Overture Center Garage.

From Green Bay

Take US-41 South toward Fond du Lac. Take WI-26/Cty Rd N (Exit 113), and turn right. Merge right onto US-151 South toward Madison. Continue on US-151 South/E Washington Ave. Follow signs to the State Capitol. Park in the State Street Capitol Garage or Overture Center Garage.

From Minneapolis
Take I-94 East toward Madison. Take at right at US-151 South/E Washington Ave (Exit 135A). Follow signs to the State Capitol. Park in the State Street Capitol Garage or Overture Center Garage.
