Virginia Woods was the birthplace of industry and innovation in Stoneham. Straddling Spot Pond Brook, the tiny hamlet of Haywardville was once home to three hundred years of water powered activity. Various mills of local, regional and national scale began here. Join Architectural Historian Ryan D. Hayward as he provides an in-depth look at various aspects of village life. Visitors are in for a treat as they will be shown historic images, recreations of the ancient buildings and meet our civic ancestors. This walking tour will be conducted on site and last approximately 90 minutes over a 1 ½ mile loop. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the past!
