August Adventures provides free admission to Otis House on August 13, 2023

Historic New England’s Otis House is participating in the 2023 August Adventures, a program of Highland Street Foundation. Otis House will offer free admission to all visitors on Sunday, August 13.

The house was built in 1796 for Harrison and Sally Otis, a wealthy couple with four young children. It was designed by architect Charles Bulfinch who also designed the Massachusetts State House.  Take a tour of Otis House to learn about the family’s life in the Federal era and the later history of the house when it served as a clinic and a boarding house. The tour at Otis House tells the story about its everchanging neighborhood. 

August Adventures, modeled after Highland Street’s long-standing Free Fun Fridays program, provides enriching opportunities for individuals, children, and families across the Commonwealth. From children’s museums, to art, to history, there is something for everyone.

Otis House is at 141 Cambridge Street in Boston. The house is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On August 13, visitors do not need to register in advance. For more information call 617-994-5920.
