Linden Place
Join us at 2 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025 for our annual reading of Frederick Douglass' "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July."
Acclaimed actor Joe Wilson Jr. will once again join us to read an abridged version of Douglass' powerful speech, followed by a lecture by Willie A. Wilson Jr. and Charlot Lucien who will discuss Douglass' work in New England and Haiti.
The reading and lecture are free and open to the public thanks in part to a sponsorship from BayCoast Bank. Registration is requested to help us set up enough chairs for attendees, but walk-ins are welcome. Donations are welcome to help support Linden Place and its programs.
