Farm & Barn Tour Fundraiser To Be Held May 5
Join the Sudbury Historical Society and Sudbury Agricultural Commission on Saturday, May 5, 2018 to learn about Sudbury's agricultural history and farm buildings and how today's farm owners maintain their operations.
Each ticket includes an informative tour booklet with a map of the 7 participating properties. The Tour is self-guided between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm and farms can be visited in any order. At the Sudbury Town Hall view a sampling of items from the SHS's agricultural collection such as tools, photographs, and Sudbury Grange ephemera.
If you enjoy local history, agriculture, and farm buildings, don't miss this event!
Proceeds from this fundraiser support the nonprofit Sudbury Historical Society and its efforts to build the Sudbury History Center at the Loring Parsonage.
We are looking for volunteers to help farm owners at participating properties greet and monitor guests. The tour is a fun way to spend the day getting to meet people from the community. For any high schoolers looking to fulfill community service requirements this event would fit those needs! If you are interested in volunteering for a shift, please contact Sally Hild at director@sudbury01776.org.
The SHS is looking for event sponsors too. For tour sponsorships or for general information about the Farm & Barn Tour, the Sudbury Historical Society or Agricultural Commission e-mail: director@sudbury01776.org, visit sudbury01776.org, or Facebook at The01776.
