Imagine Pennsylvania without historic sites such as Valley Forge, few saved historic documents, and mountains clear cut of all trees. Samuel W. Pennypacker devoted much of his life to history as an author, historian, and collector of antiques. As governor, he had the foresight to preserve natural resources and pass progressive legislation which helped shape Pennsylvania throughout the 20th century. This exhibit will highlight how his legacy still endures today, 100 years later. The exhibit is included on all guided tours of the Pennypacker mansion. Tours take approximately 1 hour, last tour at 3 pm.

Hours: Tues-Sat: 10 am to 4 pm; Sun: 1 to 4 pm. Closed Mondays & County holidays.

Pennypacker Mills is the home of Pennsylvania Governor Samuel W. Pennypacker (1903-1907) and his family. Set on 170-acres of bucolic farmland, the mansion is completely furnished and houses an extensive collection of official and personal artifacts of the Pennypacker family. Operated by the County of Montgomery, the site is open year-round for guided tours, seasonal events, educational programs, changing exhibits, and special programs.
